Group-Wedding held in Honor of Newly-Weds from Schools

A group-wedding was organized at the Oriental Land, a tourist site in Qingpu District, with all the newly-weds from education field in Shanghai. The wedding was co-organized by Shanghai Education Labor Union and the Women Affair Commission of the Municipal Education System. SWF Vice ChairpersonWeng Wenlei, attended the event together with Li Wei, director of the Commission and Yang Xin, head of the site.

Weng extended her congratulations to the newly-weds and wished them a happy marriage based on a mutual understand, appreciation and inclusiveness. She furthered to encourage the newly-weds to do their job better to support CPC course in education area.

Li, as a witness for the Marriage Ceremony, extended her welcome and congratulations to all the newly-weds on the spot and wished them a happy family life.

Yang from the site indicated that the site, with a lucky name as Oriental Land, was certainly a land for youths and for love. He wished all the newly-weds present at the event loved to each other and make progress together in the days to come.

At the ceremony, a couple from Jiaotong University and Shanghai University of Electricity made a speech on behalf of all the others and all the newly-weds read their marriage oaths, exchanged their wedding rings and presented their talents one after the other in front of all those present at the event. The participants commented afterwards that the group-wedding was of significance in opening up a brand-new format for wedding ceremony, which was modern and economic. Apart from then groups of newly-weds, leadership from Trade Union of different sectors were present at the ceremony for congratulations as well.

The newly-weds met with each other at an activity hosted by the event organizer under a name of "Rose Garden", which was designed to offer singles opportunities to meet and get to know each other.

On the same day afternoon, similar activity for singles was initiated at the Oriental Land with Gui Xiaoyan, vice chairperson of Shanghai Labor Union addressed singles and wished them a good luck.

Singles enjoyed the program and some of them disclosed that they enjoyed partners they met on the day, and would keep in touch in the days to come.
