"Neighboring Mums" Trained First Time

More than 100 "Neighboring Mums" for children in difficulty were trained On August 5 at Jing-Guo-Yuan.

Gu Xiujuan from SWF elaborated on the "Neighboring Mum" project, including its background, aim of training and requirements for the operation of the project at the beginning. She urged the mums to give enough attention to the training and share each other their best practices and help each other to gain as much as possible from the training.

Prof. Lin Yufang, a registered psychologist lectured on being a good neighboring mum who know her child under custody best. During her lecturing, she covered the topics as a general picture of children born in year of 2000 and since, their psychological status in particular and how to learn to be a good accompany. Her presentation was so vivid that trainees not only listened to but also interacted with the lecturer. Most "Neighboring Mums" enjoyed the training much. More lectures were offered in the afternoon, including a picture of public welfare program in Shanghai by a staff from Shanghai Authority for Civil Affairs and a case study on children in difficulty by Yuan Weiye from a welfare institute.

In the end, trainees admitted that they gained much from the project and pledged to apply what had learnt into practice soon.
