Report Series' 2018 on Shanghai Women's Livelihood and Their State of Minds

On September 4, a SWF news release was held to announce the coming 2018 Shanghai International Forum on Women Development as well as a latest report on Shanghai women's livelihood and their state of minds

At the news release, Jin Weiqing, deputy chief of Department of Development and Liaison and Tang Weiwei, founder and CEO for Creation Forum briefed the audience the coming 2018 Shanghai International Forum on Women

Development. The coming Forum themed with "Choice for Truth" would be held for two days from September 18 to 19 at Shanghai International Dance Center. Women leaders and elites were invited from overseas such USA, Britain, Canada, Island, Laos and Uzbekistan to speak to the audience to present their success in the areas of information technology, life science, aeronautical and space technology, business management, film and media and arts and crafts to cover three sub-themes as "Truth of World", "Truth of Creativity" and "Truth of Oneself".

He Fang from Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences disclosed her findings from a research on Shanghai women's livelihood and their state of minds. The findings showed that 75 percent of women in Shanghai were reluctant to have the third child, even if they were encouraged. With regard to child nursing, Women in Shanghai wished that the local government would provide families with allowance for nursing the second and the third children. 90 percent of women in Shanghai wished that their offspring complete their university education. Career women with high payment disclosed their higher expectation on their offspring.
