Election Held at Expiration of Office Term for Shanghai Society of Women Studies and Shanghai Institute for Marriage and Family

General elections were held for Shanghai Society of Women Studies (SSWS) and Shanghai Institute for Marriage and Family (SIMF) at Shanghai Women and Children Service Guidance Center on July 5.

Ceng Yonghe, deputy director of Shanghai Bureau for Organizations and Ren Xiaowen, vice chairman from Shanghai Union for Societies of Social Sciences attended the election together with 180 members.

The election meeting reviewed and approved reports provided by the 6th board of SSWS, on its achievement, finance, revised constitution and rules for work. A group of 56 people were elected to form a new board of directors and a supervisor. A leading body and standing commission was later formed based on election again.

The result was as follows: Xu Feng was elected SSWS president, Ma Jingming, Zhu Yian, Shen Kaimei, Gong Siyi and Peng Xizhe were elected vice presidents. Pan Weihong was elected secretary general of the organization.

The general election meeting for SIMF reviewed and approved the report presented by Weng Wenlei, on behalf of the 5th Board of SIMF and elected 53 people to form a new board of directors and a supervisor. In the follow-up election, a leading body and standing commission were born with Ge Yingming as its president, Bao Leiping, Xu Li, Shen Yifei, Guo Xiuyan, Tang Ningyu and Huang Qi as its vice presidents. Huang Qi was elected as secretory general.

At the closing meeting, tow newly-elected vice presidents declared the latest research findings and Ceng, Ren and Xu all made speeches.
